Dissolving into light

for viola, clarinet and piano

dissolving into light was written for the artists in residence at Queen's University - Philip Dukes (viola), Sophia Rahman (piano) and Robert Plane( clarinet) in the summer of 2002 and was premiered by them in March 2003. The title refers to the blurring of memories over time. The work is in three movements - Dawning, Catching up and Chasing Ghosts, each based on a childhood memory of my mother growing up in Northern Ireland.
